Summer Festival Returns June 29- July 1, 2012 with “The Guess Who” & “Sister Hazel”
Ellicottville, NY – The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the line-up for Summer Music Festival 2012, including a headline performance by one of the most celebrated bands of all times, The Guess Who.
“We’re thrilled to have The Guess Who confirmed as our ‘grand finale’ Sunday performance,” said Brian McFadden, Executive Director of the Chamber, noting that the three-day Summer Music is a truly unique outdoor concert event.
Scheduled for June 29-July 1, the event kicks off Friday evening as Sister Hazel with their upbeat sound that combines elements of pop, rock, folk and southern rock best known for their mega hit “All for You” which reached 11th on the Billboard Top 100, perform an open air concert at Holiday Valley Ski Resort. Saturday night will follow with a return of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra led by conductor Matthew Kraemer. The family friendly “Dancing Under the Stars” program includes pop and classic selections that will have the youngest to the “youngest at heart” dancing the night away. The evening concludes with an extraordinary fireworks display while the 80-piece orchestra – an amazing display of its own, positioned on the side of the ski slopes – performs Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and marches by John Phillip Sousa, including a breathtaking rendition of Stars and Stripes forever.
On Sunday, Canadian Band, The Guess Who will rock the stage with timeless classics like “No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature”, “Share the Land”, “These Eyes” and “American Woman”. Rounding out the weekend is an Arts and Craft show from 10 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday on Jefferson Street, the annual pet parade at 11 a.m. on Washington Street on Saturday, and the ever-popular Strawberry Festival on Sunday. The weekend will also include over a dozen indoor and outdoor musical performances throughout the Village.
A shuttle service will operate all three days to the concerts at Holiday Valley to and from the village from 6PM to 11PM.
