Not Your Daddy’s Log Cabin

As appealing as log cabin homes are, frequently they feel like they’re missing something. This log cabin, standing in a forested setting just outside of Franklinville, has just about everything. First off the land; just shy of nine acres, and mostly forest, gives plenty of room to spread out. A private pond lies just below the house, and the view looks over to the distant mountains. Inside only the hardwood floors, knotty pine walls and open beams suggest a log cabin. In the living room a huge stone fireplace warms the room. The chimney rises to meet the cathedral ceiling high overhead. The kitchen features up-scale appliances and granite counter-tops. The master bedroom sports its own pellet stove, and has a huge stone and tile bath. French doors open up to a screened in back deck. In summer the owners open up the French doors to be cooled by the evening breeze. Up stairs is a large study that would be the envy of any country club mansion. A second bedroom and bath are here as well.
The basement is spacious and unfinished, ready for any amount of customization. The house mechanics are here as well, including the radiant floor heat for the first floor. There is a timer wired to the electrical outlets on the outside of the second floor dormers to make installing Christmas lights easier; such is the attention to detail. The back deck holds the hot tub, barbeque and outside dining. It looks over the pond, just down the hill. Just across the driveway is a barn with a separate two-car garage. On the top floor is an apartment with its own kitchen and bath. The barn is wired with 50 amp service for recharging the RV.
Franklinville is only twenty minutes away from Ellicottville with its skiing, restaurants, and golf. The only thing missing here is you. For more information on this home contact Sandy Goode Assoc ate Broker at Team VP ERA Vacation Properties at 716-378-2733.
