Check Out the Big Outdoors at the Sports Show
Whether coming off the big game season, enjoying winter sports, gearing up for spring fishing or looking to spend a fun day with family, everyone will enjoy the third annual Greater Olean Outdoor & Rec Sports Show. It brings the whole of great outdoors under one roof! The sports show will be held at the Daniel Carter Events Center, 2383 West Five Mile Road Extension in Allegany, Saturday, January 28, 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday, January 29, 10 AM to 4 PM.
CUTCO Cutlery Corporation, Ka-Bar Knives, Ron’s Gun Shop, Hertz, Premo Limo, Microtel Inn & Suites of Olean and AmazingAerialPhotos.com have signed on as show sponsors. As more individuals and families travel shorter distances from home and take shorter vacations or mini-vacations, the Rec / Sports Show will provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities close to home. Exhibits will include camping, paddle sports, hiking, cycling, all-terrain vehicles, hunting, snow and water-skiing, snowmobiling, bird watching, fishing, and more!

Roger Raglin will appear both days of the show. Roger, who started his film career in 1984, has produced nearly 70 full-length hunting videos and DVD’s. Roger has traveled all over the world taking various record book animals including several world records, but he is known primarily for his skills in the field of whitetail deer. Nicknamed, Americas Favorite Whitetail Deer Hunter, Rogers accomplishments are simply staggering. His trophies include 174 bucks.
In 2009, Roger added to his long list of achievements and awards by winning the three most coveted prizes given by the Outdoor Channel: The Fan Favorite Awards of Best Host, Best Hunting Show, and Best Overall Production. Roger continues to produce his award-winning program, “Roger Raglin Outdoors”, as he enters his 8th season on the Outdoor Channel and continues to be one of their most popular programs. Recently, he added his youngest son, Josh to the staff and now those two – Big Raglin and Little Raglin – are now headed out every fall in search of new adventures and challenges. Or as Roger would put it, “Creating Memories that money just can’t buy”.
The sports show is featuring a show raffle. Take a Chance to WIN one of 3 prizes: GRAND PRIZE – 18 pc Cutco Cutlery Corp. Tickets are $5 or five for $20 with a limit of 500 tickets. The drawing will be held January 29. Admissions to the show are $3 adults, $2 students/seniors and children 12 and under are free with an adult.
